Gold, Silver, Bronze β And the Role of the Coach

This past Sunday at the Ironman World Championship in Nice, France, history was made.
Three Norwegians stood on the podium — gold, silver, and bronze.
And while the spotlight shines on the athletes, behind every one of them is a coach.
A coach doesn’t necessarily perform better. The coach’s role is different:
- To know the process of getting the best out of the athlete.
- To provide guidance, support, and belief.
- To create a safe space for honest discussions.
- To challenge with difficult questions and higher goals.
- To hold the athlete accountable, ensuring focus on what truly matters.
This is no different for CEOs and founders.
Today, after selling my two international businesses, this is the role I play for leaders who are navigating growth, leadership transition, or preparing for exit.
Some come to me for:
- A sparring partner to refine their thinking.
- Clarity, focus, and the courage to take bold decisions.
- A trusted space to share challenges they cannot share with their team or even their family.
- Dedicated time for deep reflection and progress.
So, let me ask you: What would be the greatest advantage for you in working with a coach?
If you’d like to explore how I can support you, I invite you to book a free discovery call with me.
As someone who is also an Ironman triathlete, I know firsthand the power of discipline, resilience, and the right support system. The same principles that lead to success in sport also lead to success in business.
I look forward to the conversation!
