Make 2026 a truly fantastic year — here’s a simple way to set your goals

We’re at the beginning of the year, and I hope you’ve already spent a moment defining your goals for 2026.
At the same time, I’m getting a lot of questions like: “How do I do it right?” or “How do I name my goal when I’m not even sure what I want?”
So today I want to share a few hints I find genuinely helpful.
1) If you don’t know your goal yet, start with one question
Imagine it’s the end of 2026.
You’re looking back at the last 12 months.
What would need to happen for you to say:
“This year was truly fantastic.”
Whatever comes to your mind first is usually not random — it’s often the most honest signal of what matters to you.
And once you know what would make the year fantastic… you’ve basically discovered your goals.
2) A more structured way: grow across the key areas of life
Another approach I like is to think in life areas where you want to grow. For example:
- Fitness & health
- Work / business
- Finances & wealth
- Relationships & family
- Friendships
- Skills & personal development
Now do something simple and powerful:
Rate yourself today (0–10) in each area.
Then ask:
“What would it take to raise this score by a few points?”
Example:
If your fitness feels like a 4, ask yourself:
“What would it take to get to an 8?”
The answers you come up with are not just “ideas.”
They become your real goals and the actions behind them.
You can repeat this for business, finances, relationships, and skills — and suddenly your goals are clear, organized, and balanced.
