Before You Build Your Business Strategy, Start Here

The biggest mistake CEOs make when planning ahead? Skipping this step.
When you start thinking about the next 1 to 3 years in your business — new goals, new strategy, new opportunities — there’s one place you must start.
Not with the numbers.
Not with the team.
Not even with the market.
Start with you.
What lifestyle do you want in 1–3 years?
What would you love to be working on every day — and what do you wish you never had to do again?
What kind of role do you want to play in your business? CEO in the trenches? Chairman with a strong MD? Strategic advisor?
If you don’t start here, you’re setting yourself up for conflict.
Because here’s the truth: if your business strategy and your personal goals aren’t aligned, one of them will lose.
And usually, it’s both.
You’ll make plans you don’t really want. You’ll commit to goals that don’t energize you.
And somewhere deep inside, you’ll start sabotaging them — consciously or not — because they don’t match what you truly want for yourself.
That’s why, in every Executive Mastery Coaching Program I lead, this is the very first session.
And inside our ExecSide Group Coaching, where we run the full 12-session program every month of the year, this month the cycle starts again and on July 24th, we’ll begin exactly with this topic: defining your personal goals and designing the lifestyle you truly want.
